The Raelian Movement encourages Gay Republicans to create a gay independent party and state

Las Vegas – press release, October 7th, 2004 - The Raelian Movement (www.rael.org) is sending its support to the gay republicans who recently acted courageously when they voted overwhelmingly against endorsing President Bush for re-election as he favors a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. In fact Bush’s proposed amendment to the Constitution accomplishes nothing but to weaken human rights. The fact is that religious beliefs are what are shutting down gay marriage and religious beliefs have no place in the Constitution. The very least that could be expected is to recognize civil unions.

Blinded by his own Christian right-wing fanaticism that anything different is bad, Bush forgets that if Christians really followed Jesus’ teachings, they would not judge those different to be inferior or “diseased”. He should read what Paul said in Romans 14:13-14.

It is now known that homosexuality is genetic and so for the genetic majority to decide against the genetic minority is actually racist. Would Bush condemn a Jew for being a Jew? Maybe he would. He has already started condemning Muslims. Are Gays just more “infidels” for Bush?

In a letter to Mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom in Feb. 2004, Rael commented: "many gay people are artists, highly educated and wealthy, and an independent gay state will see a huge inflow of capital, geniuses and art, and will thus become a very wealthy state, in addition to providing a safe haven for millions of people fleeing anti-gay persecutions."

The Raelian Movement would like to encourage the gay republicans to leave the party that does not accept and recognize them and to form their own political party, university and an independent state. San Francisco would be the perfect place to start. This new party could also adopt a new approach of governing based on geniocracy - a system that will see leaders driven not by power or money but driven for the well being of every human on Earth.
